Slow Cooker French Toast

Mmm, this slow cooker French toast is out of this world! Perfect for breakfast or brunch and for feeding a crowd. You can flavor the custard base with vanilla beans, vanilla extract, Kahlua, Baileys, Grand Marnier, citrus zest, or other spices. Try folding in extras into the topping like dried fruit, shredded coconut, or chocolate! Watch the video below, go to the kitchen to make it happen.

FYI: An inventor named Irving Nachumsohn received the patent for the device that became the Crock-Pot on Jan. 23, 1940. Nachumsohn, who went by the surname Naxon, invented the slow cooker to cook cholent, a traditional stew eaten by Jews in eastern Europe on the Sabbath. Slow cookers achieved popularity in the US during the 1970s, when many women began to work outside the home (from washingtonpost.com).
